We had the pleasure of meeting lead attorney, and owner of Schmillen Law, James Schmillen about 2 years ago when he expressed interest in joining Living North Phoenix’s Business Networking Group.
When James ended up joining the Networking Group, we were honored that he chose to do so. And almost immediately upon finding out about the first Valleypalooza, our family friendly event in North Phoenix (the first of its kind by the way), James stepped up to want to be involved and sponsor it.
As a family law attorney, he recognized having a booth probably wouldn’t really be what most people were looking for (given his line of work) so he chose to be a sponsor and encourage people to be more aware of his name if they needed his services.
James is a firm believer in Community, and being tied to our Community’s vision of supporting local and celebrating community with resonated with him on a high level. He continues to support the Community when available.

Valleypalooza was founded by Blair Ballin, Founder of Living North Phoenix, a Facebook Group. Over the years, Blair recognized a need for getting people to stop the scroll, and meet in person to support local. Thus, Valleypalooza was founded. It was and is designed to be a family friendly event welcome to all, in North Phoenix or not, to enjoy shopping at different local vendors, listening to live music, eating delicious food from local food trucks, having activities to do for both kids and adults and being out with the Community.
